WAYNE, PA — Emperion announced it has completed a SOC 2 Type II audit, an independent third-party review evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of the company’s data security controls over a defined observation period.
The audit was conducted under the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Trust Services Criteria and covered the Security category, the company said.
According to Emperion, the review assessed whether its systems are designed to protect against unauthorized access, use or modification of customer data and whether those controls operated effectively over time.
“This SOC 2 report represents our first attestation as an independent entity,” President Delphia Frisch said, adding that the organization previously maintained SOC 2 certification within its former enterprise environment.
Frisch said the company plans to share the report with customers and partners as part of its security and compliance practices.
SOC 2 Type II audits are commonly used in industries that handle sensitive information, including financial services and insurance, to provide assurance regarding data security controls.
Emperion is a national URAC-accredited provider of outsourced clinical review services, including independent medical examinations, peer reviews and independent review organization services. The company said it manages a national network of approximately 25,000 providers and locations across multiple medical specialties.
