KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Caputo & Guest has launched an e-commerce website offering direct-to-consumer sales of its organic specialty mushrooms to customers in 42 states, the company announced.

The site, available at https://www.caputoandguest.com, allows consumers to order fresh mushroom varieties shipped from the company’s farm in Kennett Square.

The company said the platform expands its sales beyond retail and foodservice partners by offering home delivery of several organic mushroom varieties.

Products available through the website include shiitake, king oyster, lion’s mane, pearl oyster and maitake mushrooms, as well as blended packs marketed as the Prime Steakhouse Mix and Wood-Fired Pizza Mix.

Orders are offered in two-, four- and six-pound packages with shipping designed to deliver fresh products within two to three days.

“Bringing our organic mushrooms directly to consumers is a natural evolution for our brand,” said Jeffery D. Guest Jr., general manager of Caputo & Guest.

“For more than 40 years, we’ve focused on growing specialty mushrooms, and this launch allows us to deliver that same product directly to customers’ doors,” Guest said.

Caputo & Guest has more than four decades of mushroom cultivation experience and previously distributed its products through retail and foodservice partners.

According to the company, those partners include Trader Joe’s, Albertsons, Price Chopper, Rouses Markets, United Supermarkets, Market Street, The Fresh Market and Giant Foods.

The company said shipping availability is limited to 42 states because of the perishability of fresh mushrooms and temperature requirements during transit.
