EXTON, PA — Mohamed Kargbo, known to residents simply as “Mo,” marked a decade of service late last year as a certified nursing assistant at Exton Senior Living, a milestone defined by trust, compassion, and daily hands-on care for some of the community’s most vulnerable seniors.

Kargbo joined Exton Senior Living ten years ago and has become a familiar, reassuring presence for residents and colleagues alike. In his role, he supports the community’s LifeBridges program, which provides specialized care for medically fragile residents, assisting with personal care, feeding, and other essential daily activities while prioritizing comfort and dignity.

“The Exton Senior Living residents affectionately call him ‘Mo,’ and they absolutely adore him,” said Joleene Kinneman, the community’s relations director. “He responds quickly to their needs and ensures they know that they are safe and their needs will be met.”

For Kargbo, the work extends beyond clinical responsibilities. He said the relationships built over the years are what make the community feel like home.

“I enjoy spending time with our residents and getting to know them,” Kargbo said. “You want to be like a part of their family, providing support when needed.”

That connection has earned him widespread appreciation. Liane Bernstiel, administrative services director at Exton Senior Living, described him as a favorite among residents, noting that his attentiveness and gentle approach stand out day after day.

“He is a fan favorite,” Bernstiel said. “Mo gives the spa treatment, and they love him.”

Residents echoed that sentiment, praising his reliability and warmth. Bob Binion, a resident, said Kargbo is always willing to help, while the Rev. Donald Blumenfeld described him as consistently friendly and attentive.

Helping residents live better lives, Kargbo said, is at the core of his work. “It is everything. It’s why I do what I do,” he said. “Ultimately, the goal is to improve the lives of our residents.”

As Exton Senior Living reflects on Kargbo’s 10-year milestone, leadership said his career illustrates the impact one dedicated caregiver can have within a senior living community, measured not only in years of service but in the daily trust earned from those he serves.
