EXTON, PA — Citadel Credit Union has been certified as a Great Place to Work for the seventh year, a recognition that highlights the organization’s commitment to employee experience, inclusion, and leadership excellence under President and CEO Bill Brown.
“This recognition reflects the heart of who we are,” said Brown. “Our employees bring passion and care to everything they do — for our members, our communities, and for one another. As we move forward, my focus is ensuring Citadel remains a place where every employee feels valued, supported, and proud to belong.”
Survey results from Great Place to Work revealed that camaraderie was Citadel’s highest-rated category, underscoring strong collaboration and mutual respect among employees. Respondents also cited physical safety, fairness, and a welcoming culture as key strengths, with new hires describing the workplace as family-like and inclusive.
“What makes Citadel truly special is our sense of connection,” said Melanie Culbertson, Vice President of Human Resources. “Our team’s feedback shows that employees see Citadel as more than a workplace — it’s a community built on camaraderie, collaboration, and care.”
With an employee satisfaction rate of 89%—well above the 57% national average—Citadel attributes its success to programs that promote well-being, professional development, and community engagement. Initiatives such as Applause, the Member Excellence Award, and Citadel Cares foster recognition and volunteerism across key areas including financial literacy, education, economic development, and health and wellness.
Citadel Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in the Greater Philadelphia region with $6.5 billion in assets and more than 275,000 members, continues to be recognized for its people-first culture and community impact.
