KENNETT SQUARE, PA — The science behind one of America’s most celebrated gardens will take center stage Saturday when Longwood Gardens invites visitors behind the scenes for Science in Action Day, a hands-on event spotlighting the research and innovation that fuel its world-renowned landscapes.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, guests will have the chance to meet Longwood’s scientists and horticultural experts and explore how research, sustainability, and a new science strategy shape everything from plant care to global conservation efforts.

“Science makes the beauty at Longwood possible,” said Kate Santos, associate vice president of science at Longwood Gardens. She said Science in Action Day offers visitors a rare look at the research, innovation, and techniques used to grow, conserve, and steward plants and landscapes locally and around the world.
