WEST CHESTER, PA — The heart of downtown will shimmer with old-world charm and holiday cheer as West Chester Christkindlmarkt returns on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Presented by Downtown West Chester and the Chester County Art Association, this beloved open-air market transforms Gay Street into a festive wonderland filled with music, lights, and local artistry.

Now in its sixth year, Christkindlmarkt captures the timeless magic of a traditional European holiday market—right in the heart of Chester County. More than 100 talented vendors will showcase handcrafted and locally designed creations, including fine art, jewelry, ceramics, home décor, and seasonal gifts. It’s the perfect destination for one-of-a-kind holiday shopping while supporting local artists and small businesses.

The festivities go far beyond the market stalls. Families can meet Santa at M&T Bank (10 N. High Street) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and snap photos beside the town’s sparkling 25-foot Christmas tree. For a bit of mischief, keep an eye out for The Grinch, who will be stirring up playful fun near Jack Loew Plaza. Adding to the holiday spirit, the West Chester Borough Balladeer Carolers will fill the streets with classic Victorian carols from noon to 2:00 p.m., and live performances from Dub C Swing and the West Chester Music Academy will keep the celebration lively throughout the day.

The Christkindlmarkt is free and open to the public, taking place along Gay Street between Darlington and Matlack Streets, and on Church Street between Prescott Alley and Gay Street. Parking is available at downtown garages and surface lots, with special event rates in effect at select locations.
