Beginning July 8, select McDonald’s locations will invite breakfast enthusiasts to explore three new spicy additions to the morning menu. In honor of the McMuffin’s 50th anniversary, McDonald’s is introducing bold twists on its classic breakfast sandwich: the Spicy McMuffin, Spicy Sausage McMuffin, and Spicy Sausage McMuffin with Egg. Each sandwich will feature the familiar combination of cheese, egg, Canadian bacon or sausage, and a buttered English muffin—now elevated with a zesty Spicy Pepper Sauce.
As highlighted by McDonald’s USA Menu Spotter:
“Starting July 8, you can add some kick to your morning routine with the sizzling debut of Spicy McMuffin® breakfast sandwiches, available at participating restaurants nationwide. This limited-time glow-up includes everything you already love about the iconic Egg McMuffin® —melty cheese, a freshly cracked egg (now sourced 100% cage-free in the U.S.), Canadian bacon and a perfectly toasted and buttered English Muffin—plus a fiery, delicious twist: a shot of McDonald’s signature Spicy Pepper Sauce. Fans can also enjoy the Spicy Sausage McMuffin® and the Spicy Sausage McMuffin® with Egg. So, whether you’re fueling up for a morning marathon of meetings or just need something delicious to kickstart your day, these breakfast sandwiches deliver big, bold flavors.”
The launch of the Spicy McMuffin follows closely on the heels of McDonald’s June 30 release of a new dessert, the Blueberry & Crème Pie. According to the company, “this ‘berry’ delicious dessert is a twist on the classic McDonald’s sleeved pie, featuring blueberries and vanilla crème layered side by side in McDonald’s premium crust, baked to perfection and served warm.”
Additionally, while many McDonald’s regulars may already have this date circled on their calendars, those who don’t will be glad to learn that the Snack Wrap is making its long-awaited return. Announced on June 3, McDonald’s confirmed that the beloved item (removed from the menu in 2016) will be back in restaurants starting July 10. Fans will once again have the chance to savor their favorite snack, and this time perhaps “permanently,” as the New York Post reported in June.
The returning Snack Wrap will feature one of the chain’s new McCrispy Strips, complemented by shredded lettuce and cheese, all wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. Customers can enjoy it in one of two flavors: Spicy or Ranch.
For McDonald’s fans, whether you’re craving a Spicy McMuffin, indulging in the sweet pairing of blueberry and crème, or eager to revisit an old favorite with the Snack Wrap, this July brings a tempting lineup of new menu options to enjoy.
