PHILADELPHIA, PA — Chickie’s & Pete’s will honor National French Fry Day on Friday, July 11, with its 12th annual “Crabfries for Heroes” event, supporting the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Survivors Fund. All proceeds from $1 Crabfries® and $5 personal pitchers of Miller Lite sold at participating locations will be donated to assist families of Philadelphia police officers who have been injured or killed in the line of duty.
The event spans major Chickie’s & Pete’s restaurants throughout the Philadelphia region, including Audubon, Bordentown, Drexel Hill, Egg Harbor, Glassboro, Malvern, Marlton, Parx Casino, Roosevelt Blvd., South Philadelphia, Robbins Ave, and Warrington. The Chickie’s & Pete’s Crabfries Express Food Truck will also visit several Philadelphia Police Districts and the Police Academy, delivering free lunches to officers.
“Crabfries for Heroes has historically demonstrated how passionate and generous our customer base is,” said Pete Ciarrocchi, Chairman and CEO of Chickie’s & Pete’s. “Traditions like these provide fantastic opportunities to gather the Chickie’s community to raise money and awareness for a great cause.”
Since its inception, the event has raised over $225,000 for the FOP Survivors Fund, a Philadelphia-based charity dedicated to supporting families of fallen officers.
Roosevelt Poplar, President of FOP Lodge 5, praised the partnership: “We have continued to go to Pete and Chickie’s & Pete’s for help when needed and we have never been turned away, in fact we are always embraced. This man and his team live their lives by being a part of our community every day and supporting our officers day in and day out.”
Customers can enjoy the special $1 Crabfries® offer during regular hours on July 11 at all full-service Chickie’s & Pete’s locations listed above. The promotion does not apply at stadiums, venues, theme parks, airports, Penn’s Landing, Franklin Square, boardwalk, Allentown, or NV locations.
