VALLEY FORGE, PA — Thousands of boxes of Girl Scout Cookies rolled into the Valley Forge Service Center over the weekend, marking the unofficial start of the highly anticipated 2026 cookie season and signaling the return of one of the country’s most recognizable youth-led enterprises.
On Saturday, January 3, more than 25,000 pre-ordered packages were distributed to local Girl Scout troops as Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania ramped up operations ahead of the official cookie season kickoff on January 15. The early delivery is part of a massive logistical effort that will see more than 154,000 cases of cookies distributed to troops across the region in the two weeks leading up to launch.
The annual cookie season will run from January 15 through March 8, 2026, fueling troop activities and programs year-round. Proceeds from cookie sales help fund service projects, summer camp experiences, travel opportunities, and leadership development programs that support girls throughout eastern Pennsylvania.
Organizers say the cookie program goes far beyond selling sweets. In the weeks leading up to the launch, Girl Scouts learn practical skills tied to entrepreneurship, including goal setting, budgeting, marketing, customer service, and ethical decision-making, all while running what is widely considered the world’s largest girl-led business.
The 2026 season will also debut a new addition to the lineup: Exploremores™, a rocky road–inspired sandwich cookie. The new offering features chocolate cookies filled with marshmallow and toasted almond–flavored crème, designed to reflect what the organization calls the spirit of curiosity and exploration central to the Girl Scout mission.
Beginning January 15, customers can purchase cookies directly from local Girl Scouts or order online for home delivery. More information and cookie finder tools are available at www.gsep.org/cookies and www.girlscoutcookies.org.
With trucks unloaded, troops stocked, and a new cookie ready to debut, Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania are poised for another high-energy season that blends tradition, business savvy, and community impact—one cookie box at a time.
