WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County’s biggest live singing event is back! The Star Vocal Competition launches Season Five this Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center in downtown West Chester.

Produced and directed by Danny Murphy Productions, The Star has become one of the region’s most anticipated showcases for emerging vocal talent. Each season features dozens of incredible singers from across the Greater Philadelphia area competing for the title of The Star and a series of career-launching opportunities.

This week’s show theme — “Top of the Charts Week” — brings the energy of today’s pop hits to the Uptown stage, with contestants performing songs from the current Billboard Top 10 charts. Expect powerhouse vocals, show-stopping moments, and the excitement of seeing the next generation of rising stars perform live.

And as always, the audience plays a major role in the action. Fans in attendance will cast votes to help determine who moves forward and participate in the thrilling Instant Save, giving them the power to rescue one contestant from elimination live during the show.

“This competition is about giving local performers a real platform and connecting them with an audience that truly invests in their journey,” says Danny Murphy, Producer and Creator of The Star. “We’ve seen our alumni go on to do incredible things — from major recording careers to national tours — and it’s amazing to see those roots start right here in West Chester.”

Over the past five seasons, The Star has helped launch the careers of standout alumni including:

  • Nella Hilden, now a national touring performer with Hits! The Musical produced by Dionne Warwick.

  • Abbie Parker, Barrymore Award winner for Outstanding Leading Performance in a Musical.

  • Haily Watson, who won first place at The Apollo Theater in 2025.

  • Caleb Zettell, Cristian Rodriguez, and Bianca Bilc, who continue to perform throughout the region following their wins in The Star.

  • Mason Olshavsky, featured voice in EPIC: The Musical, with appearances on Saturday Night Live and America’s Got Talent.

  • Anthony Winters, who recently opened for Drake Bell and is releasing original music.

  • Taylor Ash, independent artist with over 200,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

  • Noah Richardson, national touring artist with 200,000 monthly Spotify listeners, who recently opened for The Plain White T’s.
