IMMACULATA, PA — The Immaculata Symphony will launch its 2025–26 season with its annual free outdoor concert, “The Great Outdoors,” on Sunday, September 28, at 3 p.m. The performance will take place on the Back Campus of Immaculata University and will feature the full orchestra in a program of classic and lively selections.

This year’s concert will showcase a diverse lineup of works, including Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music, Franz von Suppé’s Light Cavalry Overture, Johann Strauss II’s Tales from the Vienna Woods, and Alexander Borodin’s In the Steppes of Central Asia.

Joseph Gehring, Ed.D., will conduct the orchestra. Gehring, who has been involved with the Immaculata Symphony since 2004 and has served as music director since 2011, is also chair of the university’s Music Department, an assistant professor, and director of ensembles. Beyond Immaculata, he leads the West Chester Band, performs with the Chesco Pops Orchestra, and frequently directs honor and festival bands throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware.
