WEST CHESTER, PA — The American Helicopter Museum is inviting families to look beyond the horizon and into the stars with its upcoming “Family Astronomy Night” on Saturday, November 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. The event honors the late Amber Stuver, a beloved museum volunteer, dedicated educator, and Villanova University physics professor.
The evening will be led by Dr. JoEllen McBride, an astrophysicist from the University of Pennsylvania, who will guide participants through an interactive exploration of the night sky. Families will learn the fundamentals of astronomy and how telescopes are used to unlock the secrets of the universe.
Weather permitting, guests will have the opportunity to stargaze using telescopes with assistance from museum staff, who will teach them how to focus, aim, and identify celestial objects. Earlier in the day, the Chester County Astronomical Society will host a solar observation session, offering a rare chance to safely view the sun’s surface.
The workshop is open to children and adults, ages 3 and up. Tickets and additional information are available at www.helicoptermuseum.org .
The American Helicopter Museum, located at 1220 American Boulevard in West Chester, is recognized as the nation’s leading aviation museum dedicated to the history of rotary flight. Its extensive collection of rotorcraft celebrates both the technological achievements and community legacy of the helicopter industry’s birthplace.
