DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Craft & Mercantile is set to bring vibrant summer evenings back to River Station in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. The free night market, a favorite community tradition, will take place on June 20 and July 18 from 5:00 to 8:30 PM, offering a lively mix of local vendors, live music, food trucks, family-friendly activities, and more.
“Craft & Mercantile has become a treasured summer tradition that brings residents, neighbors, and visitors together through local artisans, music, food, and curated shared experiences,” said Bob Hankin, CEO of Hankin Group. “River Station was designed to foster community connections, and we are always delighted to see this vision come to life through vibrant events like the annual night markets.”
Visitors will enjoy a selection of over 30 local vendors showcasing handcrafted goods, food, and beverages. Live performances will feature Local Honey on June 20 and the John Bickel Trio on July 18. Food offerings include popular trucks like Good Girls on the Go, Extra Rice, and Nacho Depot, alongside desserts from Scrape & Scoop Ice Cream and beverages by East Branch Brewing Company and Dressler Estate.
Adding to the charm, artist Laura Stockdale will provide live portrait drawings for $15 each, with the first seven portraits of each evening offered free of charge. Families can enjoy free face painting and balloon art as part of the festivities.
“Craft & Mercantile is often described as magical – and we agree,” said Christy Campli, Owner of Growing Roots Partners. “There’s something truly special about gathering our community to support small businesses, enjoy good food, and create summer memories under the stars.”
Attendees can also participate in the Mercantile Passport, a fun activity encouraging exploration of the market. By visiting vendors, snapping photos, and sampling refreshments, guests earn chances to win gift baskets of local goods.
River Station, a 70-acre mixed-use development in Chester County, serves as a social hub for Downingtown with luxury apartments, retail spaces, a town plaza, and walking trails. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs, arrive early, and immerse themselves in the evening magic of Craft & Mercantile.
