DEVON, PA — The Devon Horse Show Foundation has announced the return of the Devon Fall Classic, set for September 11-14, 2025, at the historic Devon Horse Show Grounds. Now in its 12th year, the four-day event remains a highlight of the equestrian calendar, offering premier jumper competition alongside family-friendly entertainment.
The competition will feature divisions ranging from .85m to 1.40m, culminating in the $25,000 Devon Fall Classic Grand Prix on Saturday evening. Additional highlights include the $5,000 Welcome Jumper Stake on Thursday, the $10,000 Speed Stake on Friday, and the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series on Saturday. A new .90m classic event will debut on Sunday, alongside the traditional plant sale.
Wayne W. Grafton, chairman and CEO of the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair, emphasized the importance of the event for the equestrian community. “The Fall Classic represents everything we cherish about the equestrian community,” he said. “The intimate setting allows developing equestrians to experience the magic of the Dixon Oval in a more relaxed atmosphere than our spring show. It’s a perfect stepping stone that builds confidence and creates lifelong memories.”
The show is managed by veteran organizers Patrick Boyle of Showplace Productions and Phil J. DeVita, a licensed USEF official with extensive experience as a judge, course designer, and event manager at international venues. DeVita highlighted the inclusivity of the event: “The Devon Fall Classic offers jumping levels from .85m through 1.40m for all types and levels of competition. This year’s new .90m classic on Sunday allows a new group of exhibitors to participate.”
Boyle added that the competition gives riders access to the same caliber of jumps, decorations, and course designers as the spring show but without qualification requirements, making it more accessible to a broader group of competitors.
Competitors value the prestige of competing in the Dixon Oval, a sentiment echoed by Arielle Aharoni, winner of the 2023 $25,000 Grand Prix. “This was my first time winning at Devon. I have been hungry for the win and am happy it finally happened,” she said.
Beyond the show ring, the Devon Fall Classic offers boutique shopping, gourmet food, live entertainment, and carnival rides, creating an atmosphere that blends high-level sport with family entertainment. Vendor booths open daily at 10 a.m., with midway rides and games available throughout the weekend.
Tickets are priced from $8 to $25, with box seating available for the full event. The competition will also be streamed globally through the USEF Network, extending Devon’s reach to an international audience.
