CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — The jungle is coming to Chester Springs this spring as SALT Performing Arts prepares to bring Disney’s Tarzan: The Musical to life with soaring songs, daring aerial choreography, and a cast of local performers ready to transport audiences deep into the heart of the jungle.
Running from Friday, April 3 through Sunday, April 26, the production transforms the SALT Performing Arts theater into a high-flying adventure inspired by Disney’s beloved animated film. Featuring music by Phil Collins—including the Academy Award-winning “You’ll Be in My Heart,” along with “Son of Man” and “Two Worlds”—the show blends storytelling, music, and acrobatics into a theatrical experience designed for audiences of all ages.
At the center of the story is Tarzan’s journey from a curious child raised by gorillas to a courageous young man discovering where he belongs. Along the way, he encounters Jane, explorers from the human world, and the powerful pull between family, identity, and the natural world.
“With brand-new staging and amazing aerial choreography, Tarzan is a must-see theatrical event,” said Lauren McComas, president and artistic director of SALT Performing Arts. “Tarzan explores definitions of identity, family, as well as the conflict between human civilization and the natural world. And it’s perfect for the whole family.”
Adding to the spectacle is aerial choreography created by Grounded Aerial, bringing the jungle canopy to life with performers swinging and soaring above the stage.
The production features Kyle Chiavetta in the title role of Tarzan, alongside Madison Sawyer as Jane and Lila Kucera as Young Tarzan. Other principal cast members include Rae Rosenbayger as Kala, Jason Scansaroli as Kerchak, Erin Murray as Terk, Daniel Gorman as Porter, and Brian Bunce as Clayton. A large ensemble of local performers rounds out the production.
Behind the scenes, director and choreographer Chelsea Barnett leads the creative team, with musical direction by John Williams. The production also features costume design by Kathy DeVries, hair and makeup design by Graycen Paulicelli, and set, lighting, and sound design by Robbie Merow.
In addition to delivering family-friendly entertainment, the production will also support a local cause. As part of a 10-year partnership with the Chester County Food Bank, SALT will collect food donations at every performance, and $1.00 from each ticket sold will be donated to the organization.
Items requested for the food drive include:
