POTTSTOWN, PA — Eleven Owen J. Roberts (OJR) High School seniors were named Commended Students in the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
OJR’s 11 Commended Students are:
- Vansh Agarwal – plans to pursue a degree in aerospace engineering, and design propulsion systems and spacecraft.
- Jake Buchanan – wants to pursue a degree in finance and accounting after graduating high school.
- Jonathan Bui – plans on studying accounting, pursuing a law degree and transitioning into tax law as a career.
- Arush Dubey – plans to pursue his education in computer engineering after graduating from OJR.
- Cassandra Harsh – enjoys helping others and is set to pursue a degree, and subsequently a career in psychology.
- Colin Meacham – is focused on studying data science, specifically in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industries.
- Anders Olsen – plans to serve a two-year mission, before pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering.
- Will Pederson – plans to study sports management or labor relations, earn his J.D. and work as a sports agent.
- Jadon Varghese – would like to major in computer and information science at a four-year university.
- Alejandro Vidal – plans to pursue his degree in engineering and eventually pursue a career in the industry.
- Cecily Vu – wants to study data science, before attending medical school, and work in the biotechnology sector.

More than 1.3 million juniors in about 20,000 high schools entered the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which served as an initial screen of program entrants. Although they will not continue in the 2026 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of all students who entered the 2026 Merit Program.
