DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Emmy Award-winning journalist Tracy Davidson spoke to students and community members at Downingtown High School East on Monday, March 2, during a Women’s History Month event focused on resilience, the Downingtown Area School District announced.
The free public event, titled Rise Stronger: Building Real World Resilience, brought together students, staff and residents to hear Davidson discuss lessons from her career and personal experiences.
Davidson encouraged attendees to view setbacks as opportunities for growth.
“Taking chances builds confidence, and the only thing that keeps us from taking chances is fear of failure — but failure is just the wrong puzzle piece,” Davidson said during the presentation.
She added that once people move beyond that fear, “a whole new world can open up to us.”
Davidson previously worked as an anchor and investigative consumer reporter for NBC10 and has more than 30 years of broadcasting experience.
The district said the event was intended to give students an opportunity to hear firsthand about perseverance and leadership during Women’s History Month.
The presentation was coordinated by Jynelle Sass, a learning support teacher at Downingtown High School East, in collaboration with district staff.
“Resilience will keep you pushing toward success, and I believe it has an impact on all ages,” Sass said.
School officials said events like the presentation help connect students with community leaders while highlighting themes tied to Women’s History Month.
Downingtown Area School District officials said the event was open to the public and designed to encourage discussion about resilience and personal growth among students and residents in the Downingtown community.
