DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Tanner McKee recently visited the Downingtown Area School District (DASD), bringing a powerful message of character, community, and perseverance to elementary students. McKee’s visit, hosted by the DASD Office of Student Relations and School Climate, aligned with the district’s commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and teamwork among students.

McKee made stops at Springton Manor and East Ward Elementary Schools, where he was greeted by excited students and staff proudly wearing Eagles green. Addressing the young crowd, McKee emphasized the value of respect, hard work, and kindness both on and off the football field.

“I’m honored to spend time with the students of Downingtown,” McKee said. “Growing up, I learned that being a great teammate off the field—by showing kindness, working hard, and respecting others—is just as important as anything you do on the field. If I can help even one student believe in themselves a little more today, then this visit was a win.”

After his remarks, McKee joined the students in lively games and answered their questions during an engaging Q&A session. The interaction left students inspired and energized while reinforcing the values of teamwork and confidence.

Justin Brown, Director of Student Relations and School Climate, reflected on the day’s significance. “Tanner’s presence is bigger than football,” Brown stated. “When students see someone they look up to take the time to celebrate who they are and what they can become, it sends a powerful message. Today, our students were reminded that they matter, that kindness is powerful, and that belonging begins with being yourself.”

McKee’s visit served as a meaningful reminder of the district’s dedication to creating a positive school environment where every student feels valued and encouraged. DASD expressed its gratitude to McKee for volunteering his time and sharing his inspiring message with the community.
