IMMACULATA, PA — Immaculata University’s Cue & Curtain Theatre will stage Curtains!, a Depression-era comedy by David Sodaro, as its annual fall production. Performances will take place in Alumnae Hall Theater on Friday, November 14, at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.; Saturday, November 15, at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, November 16, at 3 p.m.
Set amid the hardships of the 1930s, Curtains! follows newlyweds Charlie and Cheri, who purchase a dilapidated theater intending to destroy it for insurance money to pay off a mobster. Their plan unravels when they must stage a play to secure the payout—forcing Charlie into the spotlight of his cousin-in-law’s eccentric feminist take on Frankenstein. What follows is a cascade of comic mishaps as art, crime, and chaos collide.
Patrick Walton ’28, a cybersecurity major, stars as Charlie, alongside criminology major Mackenzie Fillion ’28 as Cheri. The production showcases the range of Immaculata’s student performers, both on stage and behind the scenes.
Cue & Curtain, Immaculata’s oldest student organization, produces two shows each year and continues to serve as a cornerstone of campus arts and culture.
General admission tickets are $15, with discounted pricing of $8 for seniors and children under 18. Tickets can be purchased online, at the door, or by calling 484-323-3731.
