IMMACULATA, PA — Immaculata University has named music therapy major Emily Reid as its recipient of the Presser Foundation’s 2025–26 Undergraduate Scholar Award, recognizing academic achievement, musical excellence, and leadership.

The $3,000 award supports undergraduate music students who demonstrate high levels of performance, service, and contributions to an inclusive community.

Reid, a member of the Class of 2026, participates in multiple ensembles at Immaculata, including guitar, percussion, chamber choir, and chorale.

She also serves as president of Mighty Muse, is a member of Immacapella, and previously held a leadership role as vice president of the Cue & Curtain theater group.

Reid is also a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda Honor Society, which recognizes achievement in music and academics.

Joseph Gehring, chair of Immaculata’s Music Department, said the award reflects both academic and musical accomplishment.

“This award acknowledges the intersection of academic rigor and musical leadership that is exhibited among our music students at Immaculata, especially Emily Reid,” Gehring said.

Originally from Toms River, New Jersey, Reid graduated as valedictorian of the Ocean County Vocational Technical School Grunin Performing Arts Academy.

The Presser Foundation provides support to undergraduate music students nationwide as part of its mission to advance music education.
