MEDIA, PA — Over 1,200 graduates were celebrated on May 15 as Delaware County Community College (DCCC) held its 2025 Commencement ceremonies, emphasizing perseverance and the pursuit of dreams. The two ceremonies, hosted at West Chester University’s Hollinger Field House, honored graduates across a range of academic disciplines.
The morning event recognized students from the Business, Computing & Social Science and Workforce & Economic Development divisions, while the afternoon ceremony celebrated graduates in Allied Health and Nursing, Communications, Arts & Humanities, and STEM. DCCC President Dr. Marta Yera Cronin and Board of Trustees Chair Dr. David Grossman presided over the ceremonies.
Student commencement speaker Saroor Dhanju, a Social Work major from Chester Springs and president of the Student Government Association, shared her journey of finding purpose and belonging at DCCC. “At DCCC I rekindled my spark, followed my flame, and have had incredible opportunities to help light the way for others,” Dhanju said.
Alumni speaker Elisa Ford, a 2012 graduate and SEPTA executive from Yeadon, inspired attendees with her message of resilience and determination. “Be unstoppable! DCCC has equipped you with the tools to be whatever you want to be,” Ford encouraged. Ford’s distinguished career includes coaching six athletes who excelled at the NJCAA Division III Track & Field Championships and earning the Wong Moss Outstanding Alumni Award for 2024-2025.
Graduates represented a wide array of disciplines, with the most popular majors including Business Administration, Nursing, General Studies, Liberal Arts, and Computer Science.
As the Class of 2025 steps into the future, they carry the skills, resilience, and inspirational mindset nurtured at DCCC. These graduates are poised to make meaningful contributions in their fields and communities, embodying the College’s mission of fostering success and opportunity.
