MEDIA, PA — The Gallery at Delaware County Community College will spotlight the creativity of its students in the annual AFA Foundations Exhibition, opening September 11 with a reception at 11 a.m. on the Marple Campus.

The exhibition features work from students enrolled in Foundations Art courses, a requirement for many pursuing the Art + Design Foundations Certificate or Associate in Fine Arts degrees in Studio Art, Graphic Design, or Photography. What sets the show apart is its inclusivity — not all participants are art majors, as the courses are open to students across disciplines.

Pieces on display were selected by the college’s full-time art faculty, with an independent juror invited this year to determine recipients of Purchase and Honorable Mention awards. The awards are supported by the College’s Educational Foundation along with the Athletics and Campus Engagement Office.

“This exhibition highlights not only the technical skills our students develop in the classroom, but also the range of perspectives they bring to their work,” the faculty noted. The show offers visitors a glimpse of early-stage artistic exploration, often laying the groundwork for more advanced study or professional development.

The Gallery, located in Room 2305 of the Academic Building at 901 South Media Line Road, will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours during Delco Arts Week.
