Chester County Intermediate Unit

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) has appointed Hillary L. Soring as principal of the Great Valley Campus and Kimberly Norsoph Ring as principal of the Coatesville Campus of the Child and Career Development Center (CCDC). The appointments reflect CCIU’s effort to strengthen leadership for learners with diverse needs.

“Both Kim and Hillary bring exceptional experience, dedication, and leadership to their new roles. Their careers within the CCIU demonstrate our commitment to being Driven by Excellence — not only in the services we provide to learners, families, and districts, but also in how we cultivate and support leaders from within our own organization,” said Dr. George F. Fiore, executive director of the CCIU.

Soring currently serves as principal of the CCIU Learning Center, where she supports more than 150 students. She previously worked as assistant principal at the Learning Center and held several leadership roles in the West Chester Area School District. She earned her bachelor’s degree from West Chester University and her master’s from Wilkes University and is pursuing a doctorate at Immaculata University.

Ring brings expertise in autism programming and community-based instruction. She holds degrees and certifications from West Chester University and Slippery Rock University.

“I am honored to join the CCDC team and excited about the opportunity to support students, families, and staff at the Great Valley Campus,” said Soring. “My experience working with diverse learners and building positive school cultures aligns perfectly with CCDC’s mission.”

Ring said, “The opportunity to lead the CCDC Coatesville Campus builds naturally on my experience coordinating comprehensive services for students with Autism and other disabilities. I look forward to expanding community partnerships and developing innovative programming.”

“Hillary’s administrative expertise and Kim’s deep knowledge of Autism programming and community-based instruction complement each other perfectly,” said Dr. Siobhan Leavy, CCIU Division Director of School Age Services. “Their leadership will enhance our ability to serve students across both campuses while maintaining the individualized approach that defines CCDC’s excellence.”

Ring has assumed her role at Coatesville, while Soring will begin at the new Great Valley campus when it opens in fall 2026.
