WEST CHESTER, PA — The second annual Tour-de-Trike is set to bring pedal-powered excitement back to Gay Street on Friday, August 8, 2025. Organized by Downtown West Chester and the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, and sponsored by Tolsdorf Oil Lube Express, the adult tricycle relay race promises an afternoon of competition, costumes, and community spirit. In the event of rain, the race will be rescheduled for Saturday, August 9, at 1:00 PM.
The unique event will take place between Church and Darlington Streets from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM and will feature teams of five adults, ages 18 and older, competing in a bracket-style relay using adult-sized tricycles. A new “Second Chance Bracket” has been added this year to allow early-round eliminations a shot at redemption.
“We’re thrilled to bring back the Tour-de-Trike for a second year,” said Katie Walker, President of the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce. “It’s community spirit, competition, and creativity all rolled into one high-energy afternoon.”
The event is known for its festive atmosphere, where costumed teams and cheering fans create a carnival-like setting downtown. John O’Brien, Executive Director of Downtown West Chester, emphasized the event’s role in showcasing the area’s vibrant and playful side: “It brings laughter and camaraderie to every team and creates unforgettable summer memories.”
Title sponsor Tolsdorf Oil Lube Express is once again fueling the fun. Owner Chris Tolsdorf offered a spirited message to participants: “The Golden Tricycle awaits the team who has done the preparation, put in the work, and perfected their transitions. Bonne chance—and keep those shins safe!”
With last year’s event drawing large crowds and enthusiastic participation, organizers are expecting even greater turnout and energy for 2025. The Tour-de-Trike continues to strengthen the sense of community in downtown West Chester—one tricycle at a time.
