KENNETT SQUARE, PA — The Kennett Square Police Department has announced that applications for new police officer positions are now available online and in person, with a submission deadline of 4 PM on July 18, 2025. No application fee is required.

Applicants will undergo Civil Service Physical Agility and Written Testing, scheduled for Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 9 AM at Kennett High School.

The position of a Kennett Square Police Officer offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including a starting base salary of $67,735, with the potential to earn a top base salary of $104,207 in 2025. Additional benefits include longevity bonuses, unused sick time buyback, comprehensive healthcare coverage, paid holidays, sick leave, a pension system, a continuing education reimbursement program, and a five-year Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP). The department also allows visible tattoos and does not require the Act 120 certification to apply, though candidates selected will need to earn and maintain it.

Applicants must meet several minimum requirements, including being at least 21 years old, U.S. citizenship, and possessing a valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED. Individuals must also demonstrate good moral character and the physical and psychological fitness required to fulfill police duties. The hiring process will include physical agility tests, written exams, oral interviews, background investigations, and medical and psychological evaluations, among other steps.
