CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — The Mill at Anselma Preservation and Educational Trust, Inc. has completed the restoration of the roof on its Visitor Center, an 18th-century Wagon Barn, thanks in part to a $10,000 donation from America250PA. Additional funding came from institutions and individual supporters.
The project, supported through America250PA’s inaugural Semiquincentennial Grant Round, secures the structural integrity of the Visitor Center and ensures the building remains a functional part of the Mill’s historic campus. The restoration also positions the site to welcome visitors as the nation prepares to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026.
“We are thrilled to complete this important restoration project, which safeguards one of our most visible historic structures,” said J. Douglas Anderson, Grounds and Maintenance Committee Chair. “The new roof not only preserves the integrity of the Visitor Center but also ensures we can continue welcoming guests for tours, programs, and community events for years to come.”
The Mill will mark the roof’s completion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 27, 2025, during its Annual Cider Fest. The event will showcase the improvements and invite the community to celebrate with seasonal activities. Members of the press are invited to attend and cover the milestone.
