THORNDALE, PAState Senator Katie Muth and State Representative Dan Williams are teaming up with the Caln Township Police Department to host a license plate replacement event on Saturday, May 17. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Caln Township Administration Building, located at 253 Municipal Drive in Thorndale.

The event aims to help residents replace damaged or illegible Pennsylvania license plates. Caln Township Police will inspect license plates on-site to determine if they qualify for replacement. If a plate is deemed illegible, staff from Sen. Muth’s and Rep. Williams’ offices will assist attendees with completing the necessary PennDOT paperwork to request a replacement.

Residents are required to bring three items to the event: their unexpired Pennsylvania driver’s license, current vehicle registration card, and the illegible plate seeking replacement.

While replacement plates will not be distributed at the event, staff will submit the completed paperwork to PennDOT. Replacement plates will be mailed directly to attendees after processing.

According to PennDOT guidelines, plates are eligible for replacement if letters or numbers are unreadable from 50 feet away, or if the plate shows peeling, blistering, discoloration, or a loss of reflectivity.
