The restrictions will occur on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., although the agency did not specify which days will require lane closures.

Motorists traveling north from I-95 toward Prospect Park should expect intermittent traffic restrictions and allow additional time to pass through the construction area.

PennDOT warned that backups and delays will occur when lane closures are in place. Drivers should remain alert for work-zone signs, reduced travel lanes and construction crews operating near the roadway.

No full highway closure or posted detour was identified in the announcement.

The restrictions are part of a $36 million project to replace two structures carrying Route 420 over Darby Creek in Prospect Park Borough and Tinicum Township.

The bridge replacement work will continue to affect traffic along this Delaware County corridor as construction progresses.

All scheduled activities are weather dependent, and individual lane closures may be postponed or adjusted if conditions interfere with construction.

Drivers who regularly use Route 420 between I-95 and Prospect Park should plan extra travel time throughout the construction period and consider alternate routes when practical.
