WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man is facing multiple drug charges after police say officers observed suspected drug-related activity in the city’s west side last week.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, members of the Safe Streets Task Force were in the 1700 block of West 3rd Street at approximately 12:29 p.m. on July 9 when they allegedly observed a man engaged in drug-related activity.
Police reported that officers made contact with 35-year-old Jamar Roane, who was taken into custody without incident.
According to investigators, officers allegedly recovered 22.5 oxycodone pills and 13 amphetamine pills from Roane. Police further reported that a subsequent search of his vehicle allegedly resulted in the seizure of an additional 12.5 amphetamine pills.
Authorities charged Roane with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and two counts of possession of a Tier 1 controlled substance.
Police reported that Roane was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and released after posting $12,000 secured bail.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
