BRYN MAWR, PA — The Buttery will open a new Main Line café on Saturday, June 13, as the growing Pennsylvania hospitality business continues expanding beyond its flagship Malvern location and prepares additional regional openings later this year.
The Bryn Mawr site, located at 836 West Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr, will seat 82 customers indoors and operate daily beginning at 7 a.m., with lunch service ending at 3 p.m. each day.
The opening reflects continued growth among suburban café and bakery operators targeting high-foot-traffic communities along the Main Line, where hybrid work patterns and daytime dining demand have supported expansion in specialty food and coffee concepts.
The Buttery said dinner service and liquor sales are expected to launch at the Bryn Mawr location in the coming months, pending operational rollout. The company also said it plans to open an additional location in Northern Liberties later this year, with further expansion anticipated in 2027.
The café’s menu will mirror offerings at the company’s Malvern operation, including breakfast and lunch items, pastries, artisanal breads, coffee, tea, grain bowls, salads, sandwiches, tartines, and al taglio pizza.
According to the company, pastries, bread, coffee, and tea will remain available throughout the day after lunch service concludes.
The business said the Bryn Mawr opening weekend will include limited promotional giveaways, including tote bags for the first 50 customers and sea salt sable cookies for the first 100 customers on Saturday and Sunday.
A lemon poppy kouign amann pastry will also be offered exclusively during opening weekend while supplies last.
Co-owner John Rhoads said the company views Bryn Mawr as part of its broader regional expansion strategy centered on community-oriented dining spaces.
“We’re excited to bring that same sense of community to Bryn Mawr and to continue growing in neighborhoods that value thoughtful food and meaningful experiences,” Rhoads said.
The company said the Bryn Mawr café includes a rear entrance facing a parking lot behind the building in addition to off-street parking options.
Dinner service currently remains available only at The Buttery’s Malvern location Thursday through Sunday evenings.
