Gunshot Victim Walks Into ER, Leaving Police With Questions

NEWARK, DE — Police are investigating after a man suffering from a gunshot wound arrived at a local hospital in critical condition Monday afternoon.

According to New Castle County police, officers were dispatched at approximately 2:50 p.m. to Christiana Hospital for a report of a walk-in gunshot victim. Police reported that a 30-year-old man arrived with a gunshot wound to his upper body and was immediately treated by medical personnel.

Investigators said the victim was listed in critical condition.

According to police, officers determined the shooting may have occurred in the Centennial Village Townhouses community. Authorities reported that officers responded to the 500 block of Concord Bridge Place, where they located a scene believed to be connected to the incident.

Police said detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
