AUDUBON, PA — AIROS Medical Inc. has appointed Dr. John N. Evans as medical advisor to support clinical education and engagement efforts related to its compression therapy devices.
Evans, a podiatric surgeon, has worked with the company since last year during the launch of its ARTAIRA arterial compression device.
In his new role, Evans will lead physician education initiatives targeting podiatrists, vascular surgeons, wound care professionals, and patients, including lectures, workshops, webinars, and case study presentations.
The ARTAIRA device is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared intermittent pneumatic compression system designed to increase circulation in patients with peripheral arterial disease. It delivers compression cycles to the lower extremities and is available for home use with a prescription. The device is reimbursed by Medicare and some commercial insurers with appropriate documentation.
Chief Executive Officer Gerald Malkoid said Evans’ experience will support outreach to the medical community. “We will look to leverage his expertise as we engage the medical community about the benefits of the ARTAIRA device,” he said.
Evans is board-certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and has held leadership roles in clinical practice and policy, including serving as chief of podiatry at Corewell Health Medical Center in Dearborn, Michigan.
He has also contributed to national clinical guidelines on peripheral arterial disease through work with the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology.
