MALVERN, PA — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announced the release of a new tricolor surface-mount LED designed for RGB displays, backlighting, and indicator applications.

The device, identified as the VLMRGB1500 series, provides luminous intensity of up to 252 millicandelas at 5 milliamps and allows individual control of red, green, and blue LED chips.

The company said the LED features a common anode configuration with separate cathode connections for each chip, enabling color mixing across the CIE 1931 color space.
