PENNSYLVANIA — Homes are vanishing from the market in record time across Pennsylvania, with buyers snapping up listings in days rather than weeks, according to a new statewide housing analysis.
The report, produced by Redfin Real Estate and reviewed and distributed by Stacker Media, identifies the 30 Pennsylvania cities where homes are selling the fastest, based on December 2025 average days on market. The data highlights intense competition in pockets of the state even as higher interest rates have cooled housing activity elsewhere.
Muhlenberg Park and Rutherford topped the list, with homes averaging just four days on the market. In Muhlenberg Park, the median sale price was $335,000, while Rutherford posted a median sale price of $240,000, reflecting strong buyer demand across different price points.
Also averaging four days on market were Spry and West Wyomissing, signaling rapid turnover in multiple regions. Close behind, homes in Columbia, Myerstown, Mohnton, and Wernersville typically went under contract in five days.
Communities including Shillington, Whitfield, Boothwyn, and Ashley averaged six days on market. A broader group — Shippensburg, Middletown, Mount Penn, Hummelstown, Souderton, East Stroudsburg, Avon, and Flourtown — saw homes sell in about seven days.
Even the slower markets on the list moved quickly by historical standards. Emmaus, Coplay, East York, Lemoyne, and Elim averaged eight days, while Mechanicsburg, Mahanoy City, Pine Grove, Shiloh, and Gilbertsville rounded out the list at nine days.
Redfin’s analysis shows that speed remains a defining feature of Pennsylvania’s housing market in select communities, driven by limited inventory and sustained buyer interest. In many of the fastest-selling cities, a large share of homes went off the market within two weeks of listing, reinforcing the competitive pressure facing buyers.
