PHILADELPHIA, PA — Sam Brown Healthcare Communications, a Blue Matter Company, has named Ann Hemingway managing director of account services, strengthening the agency’s leadership team as it expands its footprint in life sciences communications.
Hemingway will report to founder and president Laura Liotta and join the agency’s executive team. The appointment adds more than two decades of global healthcare communications experience to Sam Brown as clients face growing regulatory, scientific, and reputational complexity.
Hemingway is known as a senior counselor in corporate and product communications, with a focus on integrated programs shaped by patient insights. She has led multi-channel campaigns for U.S. and global biopharmaceutical companies, supporting growth and operational execution across competitive therapeutic areas.
Liotta said Hemingway’s background leading global agency teams and complex client programs aligns with Sam Brown’s next stage of development. She said Hemingway’s strategic approach and collaborative leadership will help broaden the agency’s capabilities while maintaining its service-driven culture.
Before joining Sam Brown, Hemingway served as group senior vice president and global client lead at GCI Health, where she managed major biopharmaceutical accounts across rare disease and neurodegenerative categories. Her career also includes senior roles at Finn Partners, Edelman, Ogilvy, and Havas, spanning communications programs from early-stage development through product launch and commercialization.
Hemingway said the move reflects a shared focus on purpose-driven work and innovation. She said she is committed to building teams that deliver meaningful communications in support of therapies and technologies that improve patient outcomes.
In her new role, Hemingway will help advance Sam Brown’s strategic initiatives and support new business growth, reinforcing the agency’s position in an increasingly competitive healthcare communications market.
