COATESVILLE, PA — T-Mobile has awarded a $47,500 Hometown Grant to the Chester County Creative Club, a Coatesville-based nonprofit, to launch a new initiative aimed at expanding access to hands-on science, technology, engineering, arts and math education for underprivileged youth.
The grant will fund the Creative Club’s Future Innovators project, which is designed to provide experiential STEAM learning and create community-based creative hubs that support workforce development, collaboration, and future-ready skills. The project was selected from more than 900 applicants nationwide during the most recent grant cycle.
T-Mobile said the Chester County Creative Club is one of 24 organizations across Pennsylvania to receive Hometown Grants since the program launched in 2021, with total statewide funding now exceeding $950,000. The quarterly initiative focuses on communities with populations of 50,000 or less and has invested more than $20 million in 450 communities across 48 states and Puerto Rico.
According to the company, the Hometown Grants program has helped generate more than 2,000 new jobs nationwide, leveraged over $106.3 million in matching funds from other organizations, contributed nearly 180,000 volunteer hours, and supported projects impacting approximately 2.6 million people.
A ceremonial check presentation is scheduled for Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chester County Creative Club’s location at 139 East Chestnut Street, where representatives from both the nonprofit and T-Mobile are expected to discuss how the funding will be used and its anticipated impact on the local community.
Founded as a community-centered creative space, the Chester County Creative Club operates facilities that include recording studios, a WXPN-affiliated podcast studio, a design studio, and a photo and video production and editing suite. The organization’s mission centers on fostering innovation, artistic expression, and collaboration in an inclusive environment while providing residents with access to professional-grade tools and technology.
T-Mobile officials said the grant reflects the company’s continued focus on strengthening small towns by investing in local organizations that support education, skills development, and economic opportunity.
