MALVERN, PA — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) released a new 1500 V Automotive Grade 1 Form A solid-state relay designed for next-generation 800 V battery monitoring systems used in electric vehicles, energy storage platforms and industrial equipment.
The Vishay Semiconductors VORA1150 arrives in a compact 4-pin SMD-8 package and delivers a 1414 Vpeak repetitive isolation voltage with a low maximum leakage current of 1 µA. The relay’s pin layout provides a 5 mm creepage distance on its output pins, meeting DIN EN-60644-1 requirements for isolation monitoring in 800 V battery architectures.
Vishay said the relay also satisfies hipot testing standards for 800 V electric-vehicle systems and is qualified under AEC-Q102. The device supports isolation and leakage-current monitoring in battery management systems, pre-charge relays and on-board chargers, as well as energy storage systems, industrial HVAC platforms and solar installations.
In high-voltage environments, the relay’s mold material with a comparative tracking index of 600 is designed to bolster reliability. Turn-on and turn-off times of 150 microseconds and 250 microseconds, respectively, provide fast operation for demanding control systems.
The relay is RoHS-compliant, halogen-free and listed as Vishay Green. It offers a 0.9 mA avalanche current capability, a 5300 VRMS isolation test voltage and an operating temperature range of –40 °C to +125 °C.
