UPPER PROVIDENCE TWP, PA — Motorists in Delaware County should prepare for recurring daytime detours as PennDOT begins embankment repair work on Ridley Creek Road, a project expected to disrupt traffic for nearly three weeks.
According to PennDOT, the closure will run Monday, December 1, through Friday, December 19, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on weekdays. Ridley Creek Road will be shut down between Rose Tree Road and Hillendale Road, with drivers detoured via Rose Tree Road, Route 252 (Providence Road), and Kirk Lane. Local access will be maintained. All work is weather dependent.
The repair effort is aimed at stabilizing the roadway embankment to ensure long-term safety for drivers and nearby properties. PennDOT is urging motorists to allow for extra travel time, warning that backups and delays are likely throughout the affected area.
