NEWTOWN, PA — Police in Newtown Borough are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of vandalizing and stealing a lemon from a tree that was for sale outside a business on North State Street.

According to the Newtown Borough Police Department, the incident occurred on November 2, 2025, in the area of 7 North State Street. Investigators said the suspect, described as a male wearing a green hat, black sweatshirt, and black pants, was captured on surveillance video taking a lemon from the tree before leaving the scene.

Authorities have released still images from the video and are urging anyone with information about the man’s identity to contact the Newtown Borough Police Department at 215-860-7835 or submit an anonymous tip online. Police emphasized that all information will be kept confidential.

The investigation remains ongoing, and all individuals connected to the incident are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
