WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with an alleged burglary that occurred earlier this week.
According to authorities, officers from the Special Operations Division responded to the 200 block of West 14th Street at approximately 7:26 a.m. on October 27 following reports of a burglary. After conducting an investigation, police identified Richard Gibson as the suspect.
On October 28, at around 11:30 a.m., officers located Gibson in the area of East 9th and Kirkwood Streets, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Gibson has been charged with third-degree burglary, theft under $1,500, and criminal mischief under $1,000. He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and later committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
All charges are allegations, and Gibson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
