PHILADELPHIA, PA — A 37-year-old Philadelphia man has been arrested in connection with a string of sexual assaults that occurred over a two-week period in neighborhoods spanning the 9th and 17th Police Districts, the Philadelphia Police Department announced.
Dynel Walker, whose last known address is on the 13000 block of Philmont Avenue, was apprehended following an intensive investigation into five separate assaults that occurred between July 18 and August 3, 2025. Detectives identified Walker as a suspect based on similarities in the victims’ descriptions of the offender, his physical appearance, and the geographical proximity of the incidents.
According to police, each incident involved a female victim being approached in public spaces during early morning or late-night hours, then sexually assaulted by a male suspect who fled the scene on foot.
Incident Details:
- July 18 – 1900 block of Spruce Street: At approximately 6:40 a.m., a woman walking her dog was approached by a man who greeted her before allegedly committing a sexual assault. The suspect fled east on Manning Street after the victim screamed.
- July 19 – 2000 block of Delancey Place: Around 3:13 a.m., a woman was assaulted after telling the suspect to leave her alone. The victim suffered minor injuries when she was pushed to the ground during the attack.
- August 2 – 1600 block of Waverly Street: A woman was approached from behind and assaulted at approximately 8:15 a.m. The suspect fled immediately after the attack.
- August 3 – 400 block of South 15th Street: At 1:06 a.m., a woman was grabbed from behind while walking to her vehicle and sexually assaulted. She was able to fight off the attacker, who fled west on Naudain Street.
- August 3 – 2500 block of Webster Street: The final reported assault occurred around 12:30 p.m., when the suspect allegedly grabbed a woman from behind and assaulted her. The suspect ran from the area toward Christian Street after the victim screamed.
Authorities say the attacks followed a consistent pattern, involving surprise assaults on lone female victims in residential areas during times of low foot traffic.
Walker was taken into custody without incident, though the precise circumstances of his arrest have not yet been released. He is expected to face multiple charges stemming from the investigation.
The Philadelphia Police Department credited the identification and apprehension of the suspect to the diligent efforts of investigators and the cooperation of victims and community members who provided key information during the probe.
As of now, all charges against Dynel Walker are considered allegations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. Further details, including the full list of charges, will be made available as the investigation proceeds.
