PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Zoo is bringing back its adults-only mystery night, Zoo Done It?, on Saturday, August 2, 2025, promising an expanded experience filled with intrigue, hidden clues, and exclusive prizes. The event, hosted in partnership with Without a Cue Productions, invites guests to solve a Victorian-era murder mystery while exploring the Zoo’s 42-acre campus after hours.
Running from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., this 21+ scavenger hunt builds on the success of last year’s debut with more actors, more clues, and access to more areas of the Zoo. Participants will attempt to crack the case for a chance to win a grand prize package that includes rare access to The Solitude, an 18th-century mansion long rumored to be haunted.
“We are always looking for unique ways to connect people with Philadelphia Zoo, and this event is the perfect way for the 21+ crowd to experience the Zoo with a twist,” said Patrick McMaster, Vice President of Marketing and Communication. “Last year’s event was a huge success, so this year we’ve upped the ante, expanded the footprint and can’t wait to see who’s going to solve the mystery and take home the grand prize. This is the only time we give the public a chance to get exclusive access to The Solitude, a famous American historical landmark.”
This year’s story transports guests back to 1874, just as America’s first zoo prepared to open. A murder has shaken the Victorian-era menagerie, and it’s up to participants to navigate cryptic clues, question suspicious characters, and uncover the truth—all while surrounded by the sounds and sights of exotic wildlife.
The mystery begins promptly at 6:00 p.m. Check-in starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Zoo’s North Gate. Complimentary parking is available in the Zoo Garage and Tiger Lot.
Ticket options include:
- General Admission – $50 (includes entry and parking)
- Prime Suspects Bundle – $75 (includes admission, parking, a beverage, popcorn, and a Zoo Key)
Zoo members receive a $10 discount per ticket.
The grand prize includes:
- A private spooky-season tour of The Solitude
- Two Flex Passes to Red Rum Theatre
- A Behind-the-Scenes Experience for up to six guests
This exclusive nighttime event is separate from daily admission and strictly limited to adults 21 and over.
