RADNOR, PASurgent CPE has announced the immediate release of two specialized continuing professional education (CPE) webinars focused on the landmark One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), following the bill’s approval by the House and its advancement to the president’s desk.

Billed as the most comprehensive tax legislation since the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, OBBBA introduces extensive changes impacting both individual taxpayers and businesses. Surgent’s new webinars aim to help tax professionals quickly understand the law’s complexities and prepare to advise clients effectively.

Elizabeth Kolar, executive vice president and managing director at Surgent, emphasized the importance of timely education. “We know that timely, practical CPE is mission-critical when landmark legislation like the One Big Beautiful Bill Act changes the tax landscape,” she said. “Our new webinars ensure professionals can quickly get up to speed, confidently advise clients, and earn valuable CPE credits at the same time.”

The first session, “Overview and Analysis of the New Tax Law: Part 1 – Focus on Individual Taxation,” will be held on July 8 from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. ET. This course covers critical updates including changes to state and local tax deductions, treatment of overtime and tips, new deductions, and individual tax credits.

The second session, “Overview and Analysis of the New Tax Law: Part 2 – Focus on Business Taxation,” is scheduled for July 9 during the same time slot. It will address provisions affecting businesses such as adjustments to the Qualified Business Income deduction, updates to bonus depreciation, enhancements to Paid Family and Medical Leave, and changes to business interest deductions.
