Utility Construction to Close Castor Avenue Weekdays Through September

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a utility construction project by PECO Energy that will close Castor Avenue in Philadelphia on weekdays starting Monday, July 14.

The weekday closures will be in effect from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM until Friday, September 26. Work will require the closure of Castor Avenue between Richmond Street and Balfour Street. Motorists will be directed to follow a detour via Delaware Avenue, Lewis Street, and Richmond Street. Local access will remain available, but travelers are advised to plan for delays and allow extra time during the construction period. The project schedule is weather dependent.
