Vishay Intertechnology Expands CHA Series with New High-Frequency Resistors

Vishay Intertechnology

MALVERN, PAVishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has expanded its CHA series of AEC-Q200 qualified thin film chip resistors by introducing new devices in the 0402 case size. Engineered for high-frequency performance of up to 50 GHz, the resistors target a wide range of sectors, including automotive, telecommunications, medical, aerospace, and military industries.

The CHA0402 resistors feature a broad resistance range from 10 Ω to 500 Ω and are designed for demanding high-frequency applications requiring consistency and reliability. Thanks to their low internal reactance, the resistors demonstrate near-pure resistive behavior over a wide frequency spectrum. This is evidenced by their stable Z/R curve, which extends to 50 GHz for the new devices, ensuring enhanced performance for precision applications.

Designed to perform under harsh conditions, the CHA0402 resistors maintain their stability even after rigorous AEC-Q200 durability tests, making them a dependable choice for critical systems.

The CHA series addresses advanced technological needs in areas such as automotive ADAS, LIDAR, and 4D radar systems; satellite and space communication technologies; medical imaging equipment like MRI and X-ray machines; 5G/6G telecommunication infrastructure; and military guidance systems.

Key specifications for the CHA0402 resistors include a limiting voltage of 37 V, a rated power of 300 mW at +70 °C, and a temperature coefficient of ±100 ppm/°C, with an option for ±50 ppm/°C available upon request.

To aid in reducing development time, Vishay has made S-parameter data available for electronic simulation. The company also provides 3D models for Ansys® HFSS™ and scalable models through Modelithics Microwave Global Models™, enabling streamlined product integration into customer designs.
