PJM Interconnection

VALLEY FORGE, PAPJM Interconnection has been honored by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption as one of America’s top 100 adoption-friendly workplaces. Among energy and utility companies, PJM earned the distinction of being ranked second, underscoring its commitment to supporting employees on their adoption journeys.

“We’re honored to be recognized by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption as one of their top adoption-friendly companies,” said Nora Swimm, Senior Vice President of Corporate Client Services at PJM. “Supporting employees through the process of adoption is an important facet of PJM’s commitment to a culture of caring.”

Since 2006, PJM has maintained an expansive adoption assistance policy for full-time employees. The program reimburses families for a range of adoption-related expenses, including fees, travel, and legal costs, providing meaningful financial relief during the adoption process.

The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, a nonprofit organization focused on securing permanent homes for children in foster care, has conducted its annual ranking of adoption-friendly workplaces since 2002. The foundation evaluates companies based on policies such as financial reimbursement for adoption expenses and paid leave for adoptive parents.

With more than 140,000 children in North America’s foster care systems waiting for permanent homes, the foundation’s efforts and the support of workplaces like PJM are critical in helping families overcome barriers to adoption.

This recognition highlights PJM’s ongoing dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture while making a meaningful impact on employees and their families.
