Pennsylvania Resident Pleads Guilty to Attempted Cocaine Possession

JOHNSTOWN, PA — Clinton Dudley, 36, a resident of Johnstown, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, to a charge of attempting to possess cocaine with the intent to distribute it, as announced by the United States Attorney’s Office.

Dudley entered his plea to Count One of the Indictment before Senior United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson. During the hearing, it was revealed that Dudley knowingly and unlawfully attempted to possess a United States Postal Service parcel containing 622 grams of cocaine on August 11, 2021.

Judge Gibson has scheduled sentencing for March 27, 2024. The offense carries a maximum penalty of 40 years imprisonment, a fine of up to $5,000,000, or both. The actual sentence will be determined based on the seriousness of the offense and Dudley’s prior criminal history, if any.

The case against Dudley was a result of an investigation led by the United States Postal Inspection Service and FBI Safe Streets Task Force. Assistant United States Attorney Arnold P. Bernard, Jr. is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.
