SPRINGFIELD, PA — A local senior living community is getting its residents involved in STEM activities. Engaging residents around Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math programs is a new and exciting pastime at SageLife communities.

SageLife residents recently participated in a community-wide competition in which the challenge was to create Rube Goldberg Machines out of everyday household items. The purpose of the machines is to showcase a simple task performed in an overly complicated manner.

Designed to engage those with past STEM experience, the competition enabled residents to use their past knowledge to create something incredible. Plush Mills, a SageLife community in Springfield, PA, received first prize for their Rube Goldberg obstacle course.
