Winter Storm Update: Heavy Snow Expected

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — A National Weather Service Winter Storm Warning remains in effect today, February 7, 2021, until 7 pm in Chester County. Heavy snow is expected, with total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches.

National Weather Service reports snow will overspread the region this morning, turning heavy at times with rates of 1-2 inches per hour possible in the heaviest bands. The snow may potentially mix with rain at times. Snow will quickly taper off from southwest to northeast this afternoon.

Travel could be very difficult. The National Weather Service is advising that if you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Today: Snow, mainly before 3 pm. High near 34. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 17. Northwest wind around 10 mph.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 30. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Monday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 21. Southeast wind around 5 mph.

Tuesday: Snow likely before 10 am, then rain, snow, and sleet likely between 10 am and 11 am, then rain likely after 11 am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming west in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half-inch possible.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 32.

Wednesday Night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. The chance of precipitation is 40%.
