Storm on the Way: Chester County to See Widespread Precipitation

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Chester County is set to see widespread precipitation beginning this afternoon as a storm moves in from the Southeast. The storm is expected to last into early Monday morning, after which high pressure will build to our southwest bringing a period of calm weather conditions.

Forecast Through Monday

Today is set to be a wet one, with rain coming in mainly after 3 pm. The temperature is forecast to remain low at 42°F and the southeast wind blowing at 5-10mph. There is an 80% chance of precipitation, with new amounts ranging from a tenth to a quarter of an inch possible.

The evening will bring more humidity and rain, as the low nears 36°F and the east winds switch to northwest. According to the forecast, we have a 100% chance for precipitation overnight and possibly up to a half inch of rainfall by morning.

Monday’s high will remain around 42°F but expect breezy winds from the northwest at 10-20mph with gusts reaching up to 30mph. Rainfall chances will still be present, dropping down to 60%, with new totals somewhere between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Short Term Forcast

Monday night promises to be a chilly one for those looking to head out, with a low around 30°F, so make sure to bundle up with the northwest winds gusting up to 25 mph.

Tuesday will be warm enough for some time outdoors, with a high near 44°F, and the west winds of 15-20 mph, with gusts of 30 mph, will make for some invigorating air!

Later that evening, the temperature drops back down with a low of around 27°F, making it all the more important to bring your jacket with you if you plan on being outside. Partly cloudy skies should keep the stars shining all night long.

Forecast for Wednesday through Saturday

Wednesday will bring snow likely before 10 am, then rain and snow. The high temperature will be near 39°F, with a 90% chance of precipitation. Wednesday night will bring rain mainly before 1 am, with a low of around 37°F and an 80% chance of precipitation.

Thursday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 43°F and breezy conditions. Thursday night remains mostly cloudy, with a low of around 26 degrees Fahrenheit and breezy conditions continuing.

Friday will have partly sunny skies, with a high near 38 degrees Fahrenheit. Friday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low of around 27 degrees Fahrenheit. Saturday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 42 degrees Fahrenheit.
